2 Samuel 21: 1: Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
An economic depression (famine) happened in the days of David because of a broken covenant.
Joshua 9: 3 - 27 records how Israel made a covenant with Gibeon. Saul broke this covenant when he shed the blood of the Gibeonites; this is why Israel went into an economic depression.
Genesis 9: 25: And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
Canaan’s descendants settled Africa and became the black Africans.
America misused the Africans and made slaves of them; America mistreated them and killed them.
God punished America with a famine in the form of the 1930’s Great Depression because of its making slaves of the Africans.
