Genesis 14 and the battle of kings

Genesis 14: 8 - 10: And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

Genesis 14 describes a battle between two groups of kings; Lot was taken captive during the battle and was later rescued by Abram.

The scene of battle was the Valley of Siddim near the Dead Sea.

Such a battle will be replicated again, this time in the Valley of Meggido, when the Beast and its armies make war with the kings of the East (led by Russia; Revelation 16: 12).

Israel be enveloped by these foreign armies, and like Lot, the inhabitants of Jerusalem will be taken captive (Zechariah 14: 2).

As Abram delivered Lot, so too will Christ deliver Israel at Armageddon.
