Esther 3: 1 - 2: After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him. And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.
Haman was an Amalekite; the Amalekites were the ancient enemy of the Jews.
Haman is a type of the Beast that will bring a persecution against the saints.
The scene between Mordecai and Haman happened again in the 20th century when Brother Branham was given an opportunity to visit Pope Pious XII when he was in Rome. He was instructed in what he would have to do to gain an audience with the potentate, how he must approach the Pope and that he would have to kiss the Pope’s ring.
This was too much for the prophet; he said to forget the interview for he would do none of those things for any man save Christ Jesus.
